Woman nearly dies from infection in nose piercing
A woman has revealed how she nearly died after she contracted a serious infection from a nose piercing. Dana Smith, 37, from Queens, New York, was rushed to the hospital in late January with a mysterious infection that doctors later learned was connected to the $60 ($78) piercing in her nose.
Ms Smith told CBS New York that she had lost her appetite in the weeks after implanting the tiny diamond stud above her left nostril on a whim during the US Thanksgiving holiday.
