Wallaby’s miraculous survival

A young wallaby’s 300 kilometre journey stuck behind a car’s front grill has been called “one of the greatest animal survival stories of all time” by the RSPCA.
The young wallaby survived with just a few scratches and has been released after it was hit by a family’s car in Far North Queensland last week.
The family were driving from Bamaga, on the northern tip of Cape York, to Cairns when they struck the wallaby near Laura.
