Townsville child found dead in hot car

Police in Townsville have established a crime scene at the Townsville University Hospital, after a woman arrived with a dead child in her car.
Emergency services were called to the hospital at 3:30pm local time after a nurse from the emergency department contacted the Queensland Police Service.
It’s believed the mother of the deceased four-year-old boy was with him in her vehicle. It is understood that she may have left him for a prolonged period of time in the car.
“Police are in attendance at Townsville University Hospital with officers called there around 3:30pm in relation to a child,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“Detectives from CPIU (Child Protection and Investigation Unit) are also attending.
