Toowoomba man dies, Darling Downs officers hurt

A man has died and a police dog is in a serious condition after an alleged break-and-enter turned violent in southeast Queensland overnight.
Police were called to a Mount Lofty home shortly before 7pm on Sunday after reports of a break and enter.
Police dog Turbo and his handler were the first to arrive to find the 31-year-old Toowoomba man allegedly involved in the break and enter.
It will be alleged the man lunged at the handler with a pair of scissors, causing a cut to his face and minor stab wounds to his upper body.
