Consumer watchdog issues warning over rise in scams
Australians have been swindled out of more than $1.2 million by scammers this year alone, and the consumer watchdog is urging people to keep their wits about them.More than 7100 reports have been made to Scamwatch so far this year and “losses are likely to be far greater”, the Australian Competition Consumer Commission (ACCC) warns.
