Rio Tinto keeps production guidance under new heritage approach but impact of cave blast fallout unknown

Rio Tinto has stuck to its full year production guidance despite some falls in quarterly output and says the impacts from its changed approach to Indigenous heritage in the wake of the Juukan Gorge debacle remain unknown.The mining giant reported a five per cent dip in iron ore shipments from Western Australia’s Pilbara region in the third quarter and an 18 per cent fall in mined copper but bauxite output lifted five per cent.
