Regis Healthcare attacked by hackers, personal data released publicly

Personal data at a Melbourne aged-care facility grappling with a coronavirus outbreak has been released publicly in a shocking cyber attack. Regis Healthcare managing director Dr Linda Mellors confirmed to NCA NewsWire the company had been attacked by an “overseas third party”.
She said there was an attempt to disrupt the company’s operations, with the hacker copying some data from the Regis’s IT system and releasing “certain personal data” publicly.
