Queensland student diagnosed with tuberculosis

A Rockhampton student has been diagnosed with a deadly infectious disease, sparking a mass contact tracing operation by health authorities.
Central Qld Health Public Health Director Dr Gulam Khandaker on Friday confirmed the teenager, from North Rockhampton State High School, had been isolated after being diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB).
Health workers are now doing contact tracing of identified contacts to ensure they received the treatment needed to prevent further illness.
