Queensland police trying to identify remains found near Ayr

The discovery of human remains on the banks of a north Queensland river has left police scrambling to identify the remains.
Detectives and forensic officers were called to a remote campsite on the banks of the Burdekin River near Dalbeg, south west of Ayr on Saturday afternoon.
Ayr CIB Detective senior constable Nick Bach said the remains had been located by fishermen in a tent near Eight Mile Creek, on the Burdekin River.
