Queensland hospital worker finds dead rat inside burger on lunch break

A hospital worker’s lunch break has become a tale to remember after he was served a rat inside his burger in regional Queensland.
The medic found the cooked rat between the two buns of his meal from the Wellbean Co cafe, run by the Toowoomba Hospital foundation, The Toowoomba Chronicle reported.
He snapped a photo and alerted staff at the cafe, who have apologised.
The picture shows he started eating the burger before making the stomach-churning discovery.
Darling Downs Health Service released the following statement to media about the incident.
“We have taken this incident very seriously, with our highest priority being the health and safety of our community, patients, and staff,” a spokesperson said.
