A Victorian couple are a cool $80 million richer after claiming the states biggest ever lottery prize.“You can stop looking Victoria, we’ve found the $80 million Powerball winner from last week’s draw,” the Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.
The Mornington Peninsula couple, who wished to remain anonymous, walked away with the entire division one winnings after picking up a ticket from Dromana Authorised Newsagency.
“I’m still in shock,” the winning woman told the Lott official on Monday morning.
“You just saying that we’ve won $80 million has made it start to sink in that it’s really true.
“Even though I’ve scanned that ticket so many times, thank you for saying that.
“I’m a bit shaky. I’m having this conversation, but I’m thinking I might wake up and it was all a dream. I’m moving around normally, but nothing is really sinking in right now!”

She said the couple enjoy playing the lottery, especially for Powerball draws, but don’t participate every week.
“With everything else going on at the moment,” the winner didn’t check her ticket straight after the draw last Thursday night.
“I only checked the ticket late last night,” the woman said on Monday morning.
She said her and her husband had bought two tickets.
The first was a bust when she scanned it on her phone, but the next ticket contained the winning numbers 33, 2, 32, 31, 28, 21 and 26, and the all-important Powerball number: 12.
“I said ‘I think I’ve won something’. So other members of the family started scanning the ticket and nothing was sinking in. I just didn’t believe it,” she said.
“We were stunned, excited, in disbelief, surreal, just everything! I won’t forget that moment!
“I’ve been safeguarding that ticket ever since. The ticket came to bed with me last night,” she said.
The couple didn’t register the winning entry to a Tatts card so the Lott was unable to track them down and inform them of the win before the woman scanned their tickets on Sunday night.

Newsagency owner Paul Fancett said the $80 million windfall blew his shop’s previous record out of the water.
“We’ve sold a few division one winning entries in the past, but it’s been a few years since we’ve had a win,” he said.
“We’ve never had a win as big as this. Our previous largest win was $1 million, so this certainly blows that out of the water.
It’s the sixth division one win across the country in 2020.
The winning woman said her family was focused on getting through the coronavirus pandemic, but now has one less thing to worry about.
“The main thing at the moment is getting through what we’re all going through,” she said. “Our health is really important, and we want to concentrate on getting through this period.
“When it passes, we’ll be ready to enjoy the prize. It gives us enormous peace of mind and freedom. There’s lots to worry about at the moment, but we don’t need to worry about money any more,” she said.
The win is the biggest lottery payday in Victoria.
Australia’s record is claimed by a Sydney health care worker who took home $107,575,649.08 in January last year.
