New modelling predicts up to 1.75 million Aussies tipped into housing stress when Jobseeker ends
More than 1.7 million Australians could be unemployed in 2021 once the governments COVID-19 financial assistance ends, according to frightening new modelling.The report, from the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) says total unemployment could peak at 15.1 per cent next year under the most severe of three scenarios modelled.
Even the mildest indicates more than one million, or 8.7 per cent, would be left jobless.
