Mum convinced daughter’s killer will strike again

Sonia Anderson is convinced her daughter’s killer will strike again if he’s allowed to walk the streets.
It’s why she gets regular updates on his condition and writes a letter every six months to make sure he never gets the chance to take a life again.
Rhys Michael Austin never went to jail for killing Ms Anderson’s daughter, Bianca Faith Givern, on March 30, 2010.
Instead, he has spent the last 10 years in a secure forensic facility after a court ruled he should not face trial for strangling his then-girlfriend to death at a lookout in the Brisbane suburb of Mount Gravatt.
He was found to be of unsound mind due to schizophrenia and could walk free if experts deem he has recovered.
