Motorbike riders warned of road deaths
The Queensland Government has taken the extraordinary step of warning every motorcyclist about their behaviour as the state’s road toll spirals horrendously out of control.
So far, 83 people have died on Queensland’s roads in 2021 – 25 more than for the same time last year – with 29 of those aged between 16 and 24.
Roads Minister Mark Bailey was at pains to explain the deathly figures, which includes 17 fatalities in the Wide Bay Burnett region alone.
