More police for Townsville which has a youth-crime wave
Scores of new police officers have been pledged for the Townsville region as part of the biggest investment for 30 years in the region which is in the midst of a youth crime wave.
The state government has committed to post the extra officers from Townsville to Mt Isa as well 50 support staff over the next four years as cops crack down on recidivist youth offenders.
