Maddie Ziegler’s bizarre role as Sia’s ‘muse’, Shia LaBeouf controversy
Teenage star Maddie Ziegler is making headlines this week for her portrayal of an autistic teenager in Sias unwatchable film Music. The directorial debut of Sia Furler has been universally panned for its tone deaf, offensive and “dangerous” depiction of autism by disability advocates and film critics alike.
During production of the film, Sia told Variety Ziegler, 14 at the time, burst into tears, telling her, “I don’t want anyone to think I’m making fun of them”.
