Head of the Therapeutic Goods Administration John Skerritt said Australia’s second confirmed case of thrombosis from the coronavirus vaccine should be kept in perspective.
“It is a very rare finding,” Professor Skerritt said.
“As I said before, your chances of winning Lotto a much higher.”
He said the woman, in her 40s, had been vaccinated in Western Australia and was currently in a stable condition.
The diagnosis of the woman was complicated by other conditions, Professor Skerritt said.
