Kawana Renae Pinikera sentenced for grievous bodily harm at barbecue

The sister of a Brisbane man whose life was cut short after a savage attack says her family is forever broken with the loss of her “protector”.
Kawana Renae Pinikera, 39, and his stepson, Malik Morris, set upon Justin Towers in a vicious assault over an off-colour remark about Morris’ mum.
The pair’s attack left the 37-year-old so badly injured his life support was switched off two days later.
