Johnny Depp accused of assaulting Amber Heard over alleged James Franco affair

Johnny Depp allegedly slapped and kicked his ex-wife Amber Heard and called her a sl*t and a wh**e after accusing her of having an affair with a famous co-star.On day two of the actor’s libel lawsuit in London, the court heard that the alleged assault had occurred during an explosive fight which had erupted between the couple on a private jet from Boston to Los Angeles.
Lawyers for UK paper The Sun* – which Depp is suing over a 2018 article branding him a “wife beater” – alleged that after Heard grew “judgmental” and flew into a “blind rage” over his drug use, Depp then started “screaming obscenities about James Franco in front of everyone on the plane”.

The Sun’s lawyer Sasha Wass then alleged Depp then called Heard a “go-getter sl*t* and a wh**e” and slapped her several times and kicked her in the back as she walked away.
The publisher of The Sun – News Group Newspapers – is disputing the claim for libel, and said there is “overwhelming evidence” that he attacked Heard while under the influence of drink and drugs between 2013 and 2016.
Depp has repeatedly denied ever assaulting Heard.
Addressing the alleged plane incident, he confirmed to London’s High Court that he was “uncomfortable” with his then-wife working with the Disaster Artist actor as she’d previously described him as “creepy and rapey”.
Heard and Franco first worked together on 2008 comedy Pineapple Express.
Depp admitted there was a “possibility” he had used the words alleged by The Sun’s team, but denied he had gone into “a rage”.
“There is a possibility Ms Heard and I had a fight where those words came out of my mouth, but I didn’t go into a rage and start screaming at her in front of all those people,” he said, according to the Evening Standard.

Depp again denied ever attacking Heard, claiming the accusations were “the worst thing that’s ever been said” about him.
“I would call a man who kicked a woman in the back a savage,” he told the court. “It’s the worst thing that’s ever been said of me.”
While he admitted to being angry in the past “when provoked”, he also insisted that he was “not a violent person, especially with women”.
The case opened at the High Court on Monday with Depp insisting in a witness statement that had “never abused Ms Heard, or, indeed any other woman” in his life.
He claimed Heard was “calculating, sociopathic, narcissistic and emotionally dishonest”, with a diagnosed borderline personality disorder, and was intent on destroying his life.
