Indigenous woman dies in police custody

An Indigenous woman has died while in custody at the Brisbane Watch House.
The woman, 49, had been remanded in custody at the watch house on Monday after she appeared at Magistrate’s Court on Monday. She’d been arrested over property and drug matters on Sunday, Queensland Police said in a statement.
After being remanded in custody she was being held at the watch house while she waited to be transferred to a correctional facility. The woman died in her cell on Thursday morning.
