Heavy rain forecast for east coast

Heavy rainfalls are forecast to batter the east Australian coast over the next week, with some regions expected to receive drenchings of up to 150mm.
Major capital cities are set to cop a drenching from Sunday, with the majority concentrated around Queensland’s south coast and northern NSW.
Parts of NSW have already received a drenching at the weekend, with a rain front pushing up into Australia’s north.
A severe thunderstorm warning has already been issued for the Northern Territory’s Daly and Arnhem districts.
