Gympie police, forensic crash investigate suspected motorcycle hit and run
Police are investigating a potential hit and run after a motorcycle rider, who was believed to have been standing on the side of the road, was killed near Gympie.
The 48-year-old man’s body was discovered between the two northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway, 200 metres south of the Mary Valley Link Rd overpass at Coles Creek at 11pm on Monday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and police located his Suzuki SV1000S motorcycle on its side approximately 100 metres away.
