Fire burning at Brisbane waste facility
A massive fire has erupted at a waste facility in a light industrial area in Brisbane’s east.
Fire crews raced to the waste facility on Gosport Rd, Hemmant around 2.20pm after piles of cardboard, sitting outside the main building, ignited, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services representative told NCA NewsWire.
However, firefighters were unable to contain the external blaze which spread to an accompanying building on site about 12km from the CBD.
