Finance experts in on criminal syndicate, police say

A dozen people have been charged over a complex fraud syndicate that allegedly defrauded the Australian government out of $17 million.

On Tuesday, Australian Federal Police officers raided 10 locations across Sydney, nine in southeast Queensland and two in the ACT over what the agency is calling “a transnational and serious organised criminal syndicate”, and seized 12 properties, 17 cars, 65 bank accounts, a caravan and a boat.
