Farmer dies in flood waters while saving cattle

A Queensland farmer’s heroic attempts to save his cattle from floodwaters has ended in tragedy, after his body and vehicle were found washed away in flood waters.
The 69-year-old Killarney man was moving cattle to higher ground at a property on Condamine River Road when he, and his vehicle, met with rapidly rising water.
Police say the vehicle was washed away about 8.30pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene and spent hours searching for the man before he was found deceased inside his vehicle about 100 metres downstream at 12.20am.
