Family of pregnant couple killed in Australia Day road accident speaks out

The family of the couple tragically killed in a road accident on Australia Day has spoken out.
Kate Leadbetter, 31, who was pregnant with the couple’s first child, and Matthew Field, 36, were walking their dogs in Alexandra Hills when a teenage driver allegedly struck them.
The tragic accident led Queensland to introduce new laws for offending youths in the state. The new legislation, enacted in February, requires repeat offenders to wear GPS trackers and be subject to stricter bail conditions.
