Dollarmite days over: Victoria bans banks from delivering school programs
The days of Dollarmites will soon be over in Victoria as the government moves to ban banks from delivering programs in public schools.From the first day of school next year, banking programs for kids will be replaced with new resources aimed at teaching financial skills.
In a statement released on Sunday, Victorian Education Minister James Merlino said there was scant evidence programs delivered by banks actually taught kids to be better with money.
