COVID-19 causes postponement of women’s Rugby World Cup

COVID-19 has caused the postponement of another major sporting event, with this years womens Rugby World Cup in New Zealand to be delayed until 2022.The tournament was to be held in September, but uncertainty over travel restrictions due to the pandemic has led to it being postponed.
The decision, as well as the shifting of the tournament to next year, will be confirmed at next week’s Rugby World Cup Board meeting.
