Court hears Qantas was eight weeks from going broke

Qantas has claimed it would have gone broke in eight to 10 weeks if it continued to fly without passengers during the COVID pandemic as it fights an engineering union over the stand-down of maintenance workers.The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) has taken the airline to the Federal Court after 333 Qantas and 113 Jetstar maintenance engineers were stood down for one month earlier in the year.
