Australia’s wage growth slows to 0.1pc due to pandemic impacts

Australian wages are continuing to stagnate, with the latest growth figures revealing the damage caused by the coronavirus-induced recession. Latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows wages during the September quarter grew 0.1 per cent, denting the period of the year that traditionally experiences the largest rise in pays.
Pandemic lockdown measures had already caused wage growth in the June quarter to slow to 0.2 per cent.
