Australian swimmer Kaylee McKeown smashes 200m backstroke shortcourse world record

Australian swimmer Kaylee McKeown has set a new world record for the 200m backstroke at the Australian national shortcourse championships in Brisbane.The 19-year-old Olympic hopeful clocked 1:58.94, trumping the previous record of 1:59.23 set by Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu in 2014.
Minna Atherton recorded the second-fastest time in Friday’s event with 2:03.64.
