Australian sharemarket records fourth straight day of gains as All Ords closes in on record high

The Australian sharemarket rose for the fourth straight session for the first time this year, with the index representing the nations 500 biggest stocks closing in on its all-time high.The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index finished 0.61 per cent higher at 6928 – a level not seen since late February last year.
The All Ordinaries Index, the index representing the nation’s 500 biggest stocks, lifted the same amount to 7177.4 – not far from its record high of 7289.7.
