Australian sharemarket once again rallies to fresh record high, propelled by commodities prices, economy figures
The Australian sharemarket hit record heights on Wednesday, thanks to stronger commodity prices and better-than-expected GDP figures.The S&P/ASX200 leapt 1.05 per cent to 7217.8 while the All Ordinaries Index jumped 1.04 per cent to 7468.9.
That compares to respective closes of 7179.5 and 7424 reached on Friday.
OMG chief executive Ivan Tchourilov said it had been “a really quiet” week until today as investors waited for GDP data.
