Australian stocks rally despite growing number of coronavirus cases

The Australian share market ended Thursdays trading higher, shaking off earlier fears a second national coronavirus wave could dent Australias economic recovery. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index rose 45 points, or 0.7 per cent, to 6051.1, with strong gains in technology and consumer staples stocks.
The broader All Ordinaries index rose 49.5 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 6177.5, while the Australian dollar ended the session down 0.38 per cent to 71.58 US cents.
