Australian stocks closed Friday lower as growing tension between China and the US caused markets to lose confidence.The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index fell 70.5 points, or 1.2 per cent to 6024, with technology and healthcare sectors experiencing the largest declines.
The broader All Ordinaries index fell 66 points, or 1.1 per cent to 6148, while the Australian dollar ended the session down 0.7 per cent to US70.96c.
