ASX roars to fresh 11-month high, boosted by Wall Street lead, jobs figures, company updates
The Australian sharemarket roared to a fresh 11-month high on the back of employment figures labelled spectacular and stunning by economists, a swath of impressive company updates and a positive US lead.The S&P/ASX200 rose 0.79 per cent to 6823.7 while the All Ordinaries Index gained 0.8 per cent to 7107.1.
After Wall Street hit new records following Joe Biden’s inauguration as US President, the ASX rocketed in morning trade then managed to hold on to most of its gains.
