Local stocks end session higher to shake off earlier US-China trade tension fears
Local sharemarkets ended Mondays trading day higher, shaking off last weeks growing concern of rising US-China tensions. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index rose 20 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 6044.2, with the communications and material sectors making considerable gains.
The broader All Ordinaries index rose 21.5 points, or 0.35 per cent, to 6169.6, while the Australian dollar ended the session up 0.37 per cent to $US71.29 cents.
