Artist Peter Wegner triumphs in Archibald Prize’s centenary year

A painting depicting a former Archibald Prize winner has won this years Archibald Prize. Australia’s most renowned art gong was announced today with Peter Wegner taking out the $100,000 prize for his oil painting of artist Guy Warren.
Mr Wegner said it was an “unbelievable moment”.
By an uncanny coincidence, Mr Warren and the Archibald Prize are both 100 years old.
