Alcohol risk for Qld pedestrians

New Year’s revellers are being urged not to walk drunk, as new statistics reveal alcohol was a factor in almost a third of Queensland pedestrian deaths in 2020.
There were 273 deaths on the Sunshine State’s roads in 2020.
According to new data from Transport and Main Roads, 32 pedestrians were killed and 153 more were hospitalised with serious injuries.
With parties being planned across the state to usher in the new year, Royal Automobile Club of Queensland spokeswoman Clare Hunter issued a timely reminder that “boozed pedestrians”…
