AFL: Gold Coast’s Pearce Hanley retires after 169 games with Suns and Lions
GOLD Coast Suns veteran Pearce Hanley has called time on his AFL career.The 31-year-old Irishman made 169 appearances for Brisbane and the Suns, having been recruited by Lions in 2007 from County Mayo.
“I feel good,” said Hanley, who has played just eight matches this season.
“It’s obviously been on my mind for a while and I made the decision a few days ago and haven’t had any regrets since.
“It’s obviously a big decision but I’m ready for it.”
