After more than a year away from spaceflight, Arianespace’s Vega rocket finally returned to flight on September 2nd, sending 53 satellites into orbit on an inaugural ride-share mission.

Late Wednesday night, European launch provider Arianespace successfully launched its Vega rocket from French Guiana, the vehicles first flight in more than a year. The return-to-flight launch was a demonstration mission that sent 53 small satellites into orbit around Earth.
