Qantas to outsource 2500 more staff – The Australian Financial Review
Nearly 2500 more Qantas jobs are at risk as the airline looks to outsource domestic ground handling operations in a bid to save cash during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qantas, which reported a near $2 billion loss for the 2020 financial year due to restrictions on travel caused by the pandemic, believes it can save up to $100 million a year by outsourcing work done traditionally by in-house baggage handlers and aircraft cleaners to third party contractors charging lower rates.
