Tom Lynch is heading straight to the tribunal after being charged with striking Essendons Michael Hurley on the weekend but footy figures have rushed to the Richmond forwards defence.Lynch has been accused of putting on an unnecessary tough-guy act in recent weeks as he copped two fines for striking Gold Coast players, was slammed for a “cheap shot” on Brisbane’s Alex Witherden and called a “w***er” by Lions midfielder Mitch Robinson.
