Coronavirus Australia: Death toll passes 500 as 5.5 million tested
More than 5.5 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Australia but the countrys top nurse has said those high testing rates need to continue as 17 new deaths in Victoria take the death toll past 500.502 people have now died from COVID-19 in Australia since the nightmare coronavirus pandemic began.
The majority of those deaths (415 total) have been in Victoria, and within the past six weeks as the state was hit with a second wave of infections.
