Scientists say the 10-foot to 20-foot object passed within 1,830 miles of Earth last weekend

The famed Palomar Observatory in North County photographed an SUV-sized asteroid last weekend that NASA says set the record for coming closer to earth than any known near-earth asteroid.
The NEA which measured 10-feet to 20-feet across passed within 1,830 miles of Earth above the southern Indian Ocean while traveling at 8 miles per second. NASA says the object would have burned up in Earths atmosphere if it had been on an impact trajectory.
