State of emergency extended as 279 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Victoria – The Age
Victoria’s state of emergency has been extended for four more weeks until September 13, as 16 more Victorians died from COVID-19. There were 279 new cases of coronavirus announced on Sunday morning.

Of the 16 deaths, there is one female and two males in their 70s, two females and four males in their 80s, and four females and three males in their 90s. Eleven of the 16 deaths are linked to aged care.
Of course our thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with the families of each of those people who have passed away, Mr Andrews said. This is a difficult time for them.
There are 662 Victorians in hospital, 40 of whom are receiving intensive care, and 29 of those 40 are on a ventilator.
