The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has identified over-consumption of sugar as a major culprit in an alarming decline in the nation’s oral health.
According to figures from the ADA’s 2020 Adult Oral Health Tracker, produced in collaboration with the Mitchell Institute, 47.8 per cent of Australian adults eat too much sugar and as a result, one in three (32.1 per cent) is walking around today with untreated tooth decay.
