Qld Treasurer Cameron Dick says austerity would create unemployment

Thanks in great part to COVID-19, Queensland’s operating deficit will grow considerably over the coming financial year.

Treasurer Cameron Dick provided an update on the state’s budget on Thursday after Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg gave his national forecast.

Queensland operated under a $5.9 billion deficit this past financial year and is forecast to operate under a $8.5 billion deficit in the coming financial year.
