Bumper crops worth $15b on cards despite mice plague – The Australian Financial Review
Rabobank says Australian farmers are on track to produce a whopper winter grain crop in the order of 43 million tonnes.
The export forecasts come as Australian grain is highly competitive in world markets. Exporters have regained lost ground in markets in south-east Asia and the Middle East, partly because of Russias decision to impose an export tax and amid concerns about patchy seasonal conditions in North America.
There is a lot of demand for grain and not enough of it at the moment, Rabobank grains analyst Dennis Voznesenski said.
