Victorian COVID-19 outbreak spreads to aged care as state records five new cases – The Sydney Morning Herald
An aged care worker has tested positive for COVID-19 after working at a facility in Melbourne’s north-west, sending the home into lockdown.
He said authorities learnt about the positive test at the facility on Saturday night.
More than half of the residents at the aged care facility have been vaccinated and about one-third of staff were vaccinated.
In a letter sent to families on Sunday, Arcare chief executive Colin Singh said the worker had received the first dose of the vaccine and a significant number of residents at the home had also had their first doses.
He said the home was in lockdown.
